Liz's Graduation

On May 9th my daughter-in-law, Liz, graduated from Idaho State University.

Way to go Liz!!!!

This is my son JoMax with his son Alec during the ceremony.

The graduating class of 2009.

We're very proud of you Liz!!!

JoMax, Liz and Alec.

After the graduation, we all went back to JoMax and Liz's for a meal. It was great visiting with them!

Three days later was Alec's birthday. We met JoMax, Liz, Alec, Mark and some of JoMax's and Liz's friends in Idaho Falls. We went to a movie (Star Trek) and then to Johnny Carinos to eat afterward. We had a good time but we are all too full to eat any of the cake that I made Alec! He wanted a volcano cake so I came up with this:

It kind of looks like it has ketchup and mustard flowing over the top!! Alec thought it was cool anyway!! I made this cake by using the doll pan and the smoke was make by cutting out a shape from foamboard, sticking a skewer in it, place it in the cake and then icing the whole thing in swirls.

Browsing through via Foodie Blogroll. My husband was a professor at ISU from 2006-08. We moved back to our home state of TX. What a surprise to see pics of ISU! Congrats to your d.i.l.
